PTZ “Patrolling” Strategies

Indoor & Outdoor

PANNING STRATEGY
A panning strategy can be deployed when the area being covered has some open space. The camera pans from one side of the area to the other. The camera continues to pan from side to side in ever decreasing radii, until 100% coverage is achieved. The camera then returns to the original position and performs the same routine from the original starting point.

TELESCOPING STRATEGY
This strategy can be deployed when a targeted area can be divided effectively into narrow rows (e.g. a series of business front or back doors). The camera can telescope down the rows, gradually patrolling from far to near; rendering a detailed view of the row in short time intervals. Utilizing these two strategies allows each PTZ camera to deliver the coverage of 3-10 fixed cameras
